Caloundra Craft Alive Show to become a regular event.

21 Apr

The first Craft Alive Show on the Sunshine Coast was a very enjoyable experience, held at the Caloundra Indoor Sports stadium. There was a good vibe from all who attended and who appreciated the calm attitude and friendliness, so different from a big city show. Thankfully it will now be a regular on the Craft Alive circuit so plan to be there next year – the weekend before Easter (which will be a week earlier next year). Even if you don’t make it up to Maleny for a class, you can check out what’s new and pick up the latest stencils at this event in Caloundra!

We made a lot of new friends and many have chosen to come to classes up in beautiful Maleny. More information on these later. Here’s a photo of our stand, with Dawn grabbing the opportunity to scrap before everyone arrived for the day.

The next show on the calendar for AZZA Pacific is the Scrapbook and Papercraft Convention in Brisbane at the Convention Centre, Thursday 6th to Sunday 9th June, 2019. We have our stand in its usual position next to the coffee shop! Make sure you come and see Rachel and the team.

As I will be travelling overseas from the end of this week, all my classes will resume from mid-June (my house-sitter doesn’t scrap!). The first class on Saturday 15th June will be for those with some experience in the AZZA techniques as it is a large project requiring you to know the basics. Bring along a large selection of photos on a theme for this one so you have just the ones you need. The sample shown here uses 9 photos (2 portrait, 4 landscape and the other 3 can be either as they are cropped). Booking is essential for all my classes – email me on anitas.azzaworld@gmail.com.

I had a lot of fun working with the Verlaine stencil duo and can show you only the first page of the multiple pages I did in this sequence. I happened to have this photo on my phone but the actual pages have been packed up and send down for the display at the Brisbane show in June, hence I cannot send you the photos just now. You will have to wait and see them when you come for a class, or you can see them at the show in Brisbane in June!

The decoration on the page is created using a texture stencil and two shades of ink. What I really want to show you is on the following pages, where I used the stamp set CASTLES, then coloured and embossed to create some figures I love. They will be in the next blog!

As well as the ‘advanced’ class on Saturday 15th June mentioned above, I also have classes programmed for Wednesday 19th June (almost full) and Saturday 22nd June (also almost full) that would suit people new to the European style of scrapping. Other classes will be organised to suit the other ladies from Craft Alive who wanted to book in and these dates will be arranged to suit the times that suit us both.

This blog features just the pages that I have completed so if you want to see more of this unique style, go to our website at azzaworld.com.au and check out the gallery.
